Brixham Pilgrim Shanty Singers

The Brixham Pilgrim Shanty Singers are mostly members of and raise funds for the Pilgrim Heritage Sailing Foundation , the charity that supports and runs Pilgrim of Brixham. We meet most Tuesday evenings in Brixham for practise sessions and regularly appear at local gigs and South West of England festivals. We have a repertoire of a wide range of sea shanties and songs of the sea. Our members include a number of female singers, which gives us a point of difference to many other shanty groups.

We have been established for over 2 years and have performed at several public events including some at Brixham Theatre, Brixham Yacht Club and other local venues, where the band has been very well received. The Brixham Pilgrims appeared on the shanty stage at this year’s Brixham Pirate Festival and on the main stage in support of Queen Anne’s Revenge ; as well as at the Plymouth Pirate Festival.

We are available for bookings at functions, festivals, etc. All funds raised are for the Pilgrim Heritage Sailing Foundation. A suitable donation to the charity and consideration of the ability for the band to collect donations on the day via tins/card machines/raffles is usually required in return for a performance. Performances can be tailored to requirements, normally being a single 60 minute, or 2 x 45 minute sets.
