Staycation Heritage Sailing Adventure
Our Staycation Heritage Sailing Adventure will cruise the stunning southern coasts of Devon and Cornwall. You will be sailing on Pilgrim of Brixham, our amazing fully restored Victorian sailing trawler built in 1895. She’s restored as original above deck and with comfy contemporary accommodation down below. We have room for 10 passengers on this 8 day, 7 night summer cruise. While the south west of England will be bursting with holidaymakers, it certainly won’t feel like it on Pilgrim. Our Devon and Cornwall holiday cruise will visit delightful anchorages, historic ports and enchanting estuaries away from the crowds. We also hope to be in Plymouth to see some of the amazing displays at the British Firework Championships.
Sailing on Pilgrim is a unique and exhilarating experience
This cruise will combine exhilarating sailing with coastal scenery that is simply stunning and wildlife that never ceases to surprise. Most of the coast we will cruise along is either part of the South Devon or Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The marine wildlife may typically include dolphins, porpoises, seals, sunfish, basking sharks and numerous sea bird colonies. There have even been sightings of Orcas this season already.
Where will we go?
No two trips are ever the same. Pilgrim’s staycation heritage sailing adventure will enable you to get away from it all and be out in the fresh air with good company in wonderful surroundings. We set sail from the historic Devon fishing port of Brixham on the English Riviera and pass round Berry Head and set course westward. Our stopovers may include historic ports like Dartmouth, Salcombe, Plymouth and Fowey. The bays and anchorages in between also offer great settings for wild swimming, picnics and barbecues. Some of them feature hard to reach beaches not readily accessible from the South West Coast Path. Our skipper will try and tailor the cruise based on guest preferences, but he will also be taking account of the tides and the weather from day to day.
* Ensuite Accommodation available
This year we are able to offer ensuite private cabin facilities at a premium subject to availability. Guests who want more privacy can book exclusive use of our forepeak and and our main cabin, both of which have separate heads including showers. This may suit couples or family groups wanting to berth together onboard. Please enquire about prices.
This summer holiday features full board accommodation and will suit people of all ages (Min age 8).
