Scilly Isles Sailing Holiday 2021
Every year Pilgrim sets off from Falmouth for our amazing Scilly Isles Sailing Holiday. This delightful archipelago off the south west tip off Cornwall is a really special place to visit. There are pristine beaches and a number of secluded anchorages. We plan to move from island to island to allow guests to explore ashore and to enjoy the stunning coastal scenery and wildlife. Over seven days we will cruise from Falmouth, around the Lizard Peninsula and out to the Isles of Scilly and back. This trip will combine wonderful open water sailing passages with time on the islands and we usually try to include picnics and a beach barbecue. Typically we will get to St Martin’s, Tresco, Bryher, St Agnes and St Mary’s but our journey is somewhat dictated by the moods of the Atlantic Ocean.
Cruising on Pilgrim to the Isles of Scilly is a unique experience.
Not only will you have a superb sailing holiday, but you will see how Victorian fishermen handled these heavy and powerful vessels. You will be able to assist the crew to sail Pilgrim in the traditional manner yet benefit from the modern guest facilities we have on board.
This 7 day, 6 night, adventure departs and returns to the historic port of Falmouth which has been a mariner’s landmark for generations. Charles Darwin arrived in Falmouth on HMS Beagle from the Pacific Ocean in 1836. Throughout the trip you will be able to appreciate the scenery, the wonderful wildlife and the amazing feeling of just being propelled by the wind in the sails. Our Scilly Isles Sailing Holiday is always a much loved part of our busy summer programme.
