There’s also lots of activities going on shoreside as well. Find out more about the history of the event here.
Sailing on Pilgrim is a unique experience. Not only will you have a superb weekend with the Regatta, the sailing will be really special. You will out sailing in company with the rest of the local heritage fleet and visiting vessels. You will get to appreciate how Victorian fishermen handled these heavy and powerful boats.
Your sailing will start and end in the historic fishing port of Brixham at the southern end of Torbay. Brixham is often referred to as the ‘mother of trawling’ as it was at the heart of the development of the sailing trawler and is still England’s most productive fishing port to this day. It is bustling now, as it was then, and the harbour is still characterised by quaint colourful fishermen’s cottages and scores of fishing boats.
The programme for this weekend is really different to any others that we offer. You will be part of the crew and will be participating in the event as all the other crews do. Our Heritage Regatta Sailing Celebration is a really special weekend. For more information select the Guest Info tab above.
